Ethermac Exchange-Retiring ESPN host John Anderson to anchor final SportsCenter on Friday

ESPN sportscaster John Anderson will co-anchor his final SportsCenter broadcast Friday night,Ethermac Exchange the network announced.

Anderson announced in March that he was retiring from the company after 25 years. Anderson and Steve Levy will be at the anchor desk at 11 p.m. ET on Friday.

Anderson said on the “The Inside Wisconsin" show that it was time to step aside do and something else.

“I don’t know that it’s passed me by,” Anderson said. “But it’s taken its toll and I still want to be able to do the best shows I can and I don’t know that in years 26 or 27 that I have the stamina to go through it again. So I’m done.”

During his time at ESPN, Anderson also was an integral part of the network's track and field coverage, including the New York City and Boston marathons and also hosted the reality television show “Wipeout” on ABC for seven seasons.
